It happened ages ago in heaven that the gods and demons started to fight for the amrit. Amrit was nectar and also called the drink of immortality. So, to churn the amrit, they began using Vasuki as a rope in Samudra Manthan by keeping Mount Mandara as a churning rod. It brought forth some treasure and finally the pail of amrit.
A fierce fight broke out over the nectar. Lord Vishnu, in the form of the enchanting Mohini, tricked the demons and ensured the gods received the nectar. During this battle, a few drops of amrit fell on Earth at four sacred places Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nashik, and Ujjain where the Kumbh Mela is now celebrated.

Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj is very peaceful and spiritual if one has planned for a boat ride. We have two booking slots available, one from 6 AM to 12 PM and the other from 12 PM to 6 PM. We have 500 boats with a capacity of 10 people each. During the ride, you will see the Ganges, Yamuna, and the Saraswati River, known as the Triveni Sangam, where the three rivers meet, and watch the pilgrims taking part in rituals. You can even take a Snan during your visit to Triveni Sangam. The boat ride gives you a chance to enjoy the beauty of the place and feel the spiritual energy of the Kumbh Mela.
